TREE FERN (Cyathea Latebrosa)
This fern tree is a small tree up to 4 m tall, consisting of a single trunk bearing very large alternate stalked bi-pinnate leaves. It grows near forest fringes, open areas from the lowlands to 1200 m or more on the mountains. It can be found in the forests of Singapore, Malaysia, Southern & Northern India, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand & Cambodia. It can usually be found in semi-shaded or shaded areas. The trunk is often used as a growing medium for ornamental epiphytes. It is also cultivated as an ornamental plant in indoor or shaded outdoor areas.
