BINTANGOR BUNUT (Calophyllum Macrocarpum)
This critically endangered tree can grow up to 45 m tall. It's opposite long stalked leaves have leathery leaf blades that are 10-24 by 3-7 cm, with prominent parallel secondary veins. The plant produces attractive flushes of saffron-red new leaves, which later turn green. Its flower clusters consists of 6-10 flowers. Its white petalled flowers are 3 cm wide and mildly fragrant. Its large fruits are egg shaped and dark green when ripe. The fruit can be eaten.
